Gah, it's freezing!
Anne spoke, clearly frustrated. Well, she had to get down to put her chest protecter on anyways. She guided her ivory stallion to the attached lounge of the inside arena. Halting him squarely she dismounted and went into the lounge, trusting Nero to stay put. The gate to the outdoors was closed anyways. She grabbed her hunter green chest protecter and pulled a black sweatshirt over it. Walking back out, she mounted her horse who had stood calmly for her. Smiling, she asked for a trot going around the course of 3'-5' 3" jumps. She posted calmly, but remembering what happened while training Twister she wasn't all blissful and serene. After Nero seemed loosened up, she tipped his nose gently to the wall and made a kissing noise to him. He started without hesitating, and more importantly on the correct lead. They headed for the first one, a 3'8" high 1' 6" wide triple pole jump. She had a bit of a hard time keeping him collected to the jump, then with ease let him go as she hunched into a 2-point and gave him a nudge. Anne felt the wind at her face and his fore legs tuck up as he clearly overjumped it. Leaning back a little for the landing, they did a flying lead change as they headed for the 4' water jump. She let him fly over it, she barely did anything. But, she probably should've. They nicked the last pole and put a hoof into the water. She groaned, then headed for the 3' double ahead. Anne knew Nero didn't like doubles, and she fanned her whip. He obviously caught it in his eye, and leaped perfectly over the two.
Atta boy...
she whispered, and the amazing pair flew over the last 8 jumps. Anne cooled Nero off with a quick lunge, then led him back to the barn. What she didn't know was that an unfamiliar guy quietly followed her back to the stallion barn...
